Meet Ash

Your Member for Barton

My Background

I am Ash, your new Federal Member for Barton, a place I have always called home.

I was born in Camperdown, raised in Hurstville, and I have lived in the St George area my whole life. This community raised me, and it is the greatest honour of my life to now represent Barton at a national level.

I have spent my career standing up for people, as a lawyer fighting for fairness at work, as a Councillor making sure locals were treated with respect, and at the St Vincent de Paul Society helping families keep a roof over their heads and food on the table.

My story is also about service. For many years I have volunteered in soup kitchens, delivered meals to homes and supported families through my church, because I believe everyone deserves dignity and respect.

Barton is one of the most multicultural electorates in the country, with proud Chinese, Nepalese, Greek, Lebanese and Filipino communities, along with many more. Our diversity is our greatest strength, and I will always work to make sure Barton’s voice is heard clearly.

If you live in Barton, I would love to hear from you. Whether you have a story to share, an issue to raise, or something happening in the community that you think I should know about, please get in touch. Your voice is always welcome, and my team and I are here to listen and to help.

I’d like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we meet today. I would also like to pay my respects to Elders past and present and future custodians and Elders of the nation.
